Chances are you have not and we must point out that hiring one for your wedding means that you must consider issues that you have probably never had to think about before.
What are the First Things to Consider When Hiring a Wedding Band?

You will want to meet with any potential band and interview them. Ask them how much experience they have. How many weddings do they perform at per year? Have them show you their package prices? Pay attention to how many hours are included with certain packages. Do they want to be fed? What about breaks? Will they play music during their breaks? Do they allow people to make requests? Will they act as emcee of your events? Make sure you ask for references. This can be a very important resource for you because it allows you to get feedback from someone who has had actual experience with the group.
Contact each band and ask them if they are available for the date of your wedding. For the ones that are available for your date, find out where they will be playing in the Albuquerque area and do whatever you have to in order to see them play live. If they tell you that they are not playing any gigs for the next couple of months, that might be a major red flag.
Once you have all of your questions answered, do a side by side comparison. When you feel confident about a particular band, you will have to put down a deposit to reserve their services.
